Q: What is DoggyLottery?
A: DoggyLottery is a not for profit company that raises money for dog rescue centres around the UK through an online lotter.
Q: Why should I play?
A: You will be helping dog rescue centres in desperate need of support and may also win a cash prize in the process.
Q: Where does the money go?
A: For every £1.50 played minus card processing fees, 60% goes to the dog charities and 30% is split between the prize winners. The remaining 10% is used to run the lottery and administration costs.
Q: How do I play?

Q: How do I know I have been entered?
A: You will receive an email confirming your entry. You will automatically be entered into the draw. You will be entered the same amount of times according to the amount of tickets bought.
Q: Can I choose my own numbers?
A: We are not currently able to allow ‘pick your own’ number selection. If this feature is important to you, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. This is something we hope to be able to offer in the future once we change platforms.
Q: How do I vote if I am a weekly subscriber?
A: The first time you enter, you will be asked to vote for your favourite dog (rescue centre). Each week your vote will go to the same rescue centre. Once the round has ended and the new 5 rescue centres come onboard, you will be sent an email to vote again. Your vote will then stay the same for the 4 week period until the next change over.
Q: Can you guarantee the lottery is fair?
A: Yes, every entry has an equal chance of winning, and the winners are drawn at random by our random number generator.
Q: What can I win?
A: You can be one of 20 weekly prize winners. 30% of the total funds raised will be used for the prize fund. The prizes are divided as follows:
1st prize – 50% of prize fund (one winner)
2nd prize – 25% of prize fund (divided between 4 winners)
3rd prize – 25% of prize fund (divided between 15 people)
Q: How do I know if I have won?
A: All winners will automatically be sent an email. You can also check the list of winners which will be published each week on our website. Prizes will be paid within 14 days of the draw.
Q: When does the weekly draw take place?
A: The draws are held every Saturday at 8pm.
Q: How are the charities picked that participate?
A: Every 4 weeks, 5 charities participate. Rescue centres are recommended by the public through our website, social media and email. We also do our own extensive online research. Before we actually contact them to come onboard, we have a 10 point criteria list that they must comply with.
Q: Why is my local rescue centre not mentioned anymore?
A: Rescue centres are partnered with us for 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, five new rescue centres come onboard. There are over 800 dog rescue centres in the UK. DoggyLottery was set up to help as many centres as possible. That is why we have a rolling system so the centres change over after 4 weeks and everyone gets a turn. Don’t worry though as we do invite all centres that have been on DoggyLottery to take part again in the future.
Q: How do I change my weekly vote?
A: Go to manage subscriptions on the website under the menu ‘Play Now’. Under dashboard you will be able to vote for your preferred rescue centre. If you do not change your vote when the new round starts, you will automatically be voting for all 5 equally.
Q: Where can I see how much the charity I support has received?
A: After each round has finished you receive an email with the totals allocated to each centre. It also gets published on our website on this page: https://www.doggylottery.co.uk/previous-charity-winners/
Q: Can I gift lottery tickets?
A: We would love people to be able to buy DoggyLottery gift vouchers for their family and friends. This is something we are working on and hopefully we will be able to offer this in the near future.
