Gemma

Small Dog Rescue Sussex
Breed: Crossbreed
Status: Successfully adopted

We adopted Gemma (was Florence) just over 2 years ago now. She was scared of everything - people, vehicles, noises and other dogs. We already had a Yorkie poo and had been looking for another dog with similar characteristics so they would hopefully bond. It took several days for them to get comfortable with each other but now they are the best of friends. It has been the most amazing journey both for Gemma and for us. We have learned so much and there are a few things we might have done differently. It has been incredibly rewarding and humbling to earn the trust and love of a dog who had obviously had a bad time in the past. She has worked with us to achieve contentment and happiness as well as a security she had never known. I will always be grateful to SDRS for finding her and us, putting the two together has been a fantastic journey.

Please vote for Gemma so we can continue to help more dogs like her in our care.

Scooby

All Creatures Great And Small
Breed: Ridgeback Cross
Status: Successfully adopted

Scooby was brought into us due to a change in circumstances. He has quite a few lumps and bumps due to his age as well as a hernia and heart murmur. Despite all this, he is an extremely happy and loving dog. We were so pleased when a lovely family adopted him. He is truly spoilt and receiving all the love and attention he deserves.

Please vote for Scooby so we can continue to help more dogs like him in our care.

Kira

Sunny Shores Dog Rescue
Breed: Staffie Cross
Status: Successfully adopted

This is Kira. She was found by the side of the road with a solitary puppy. She was in a terrible state suffering from untreated Liesh, dehydrated and very underweight. Her puppy soon found a forever home but Kira sat and waited and waited. Eventually two visitors to the rescue met her and fell for her looks and amazing character. If ever a picture shows how much it means to a dog to be given a second chance then this photo just maybe it. Kira living her best life!

Please vote for Kira so we can continue to help more dogs like her in our care.

Daphne

Boycie's Bridge Rescue
Breed: Cane Coso
Status: In long-term foster

Daphne is an 11 year old Cane Coso. She is a long term foster dog, who had never been socialised, as she was kept on a chain as a guard dog. She has been carefully guided by our behaviourist and foster family to overcome her fears of the outside world. She is now living a wonderful life.

Please vote for Daphne so we can continue to help more dogs like her in our care.
